Sorry I haven't made this blog as active as I would have liked...I'll try to do better. The in person meetings get better every week...I see in your faces and hear in your voices that God is doing a very good work in your hearts as we focus on being His and what that means.
Today I shared a quote that has stayed with me for a very long time. I'm not allowed to watch Christian t.v. (Scott says it makes me too crazy. It really does get me worked up when I hear a heretical teaching!) Anyhoo...one day long, long ago I was watching some Christian television show and a gospel singer performed a song and was then interviewed. She had a rich story of God's work in her life and she said a simple phrase that has stuck with me. She said one night when she was in a very painful place and feeling very broken, she felt the Lord impress upon her heart these words, "Healing comes from knowing who I am."
That's what we are doing in Deeper: getting to know who He is and Whose we are! Today we shared our stories about becoming a believer. The interesting thing that each one shared in a different way was that each of us had a person or people in our lives that lived out God's love in their real lives. Authenic faith lived out draws people into the depths of God's love.
I so enjoy being with those that can come and so miss those who aren't able to! Looking forward to more great weeks together! Love, Lorri
